What's new
The changes to this application that you might notice, newest first. If something here doesn't behave the way it says, please write to support@manageyourmeans.com.
October 2026
New
- Avatars. Build a small picture to show beside your name, either a person you shape yourself or one of thirteen costumes, from Profile. It is drawn from your choices, so nothing is uploaded, and it is optional.
- A payment website for each bill and debt. Add the address where you pay it, and on the Cash Flow Planner the name becomes a link straight to that page. The address is optional and is stored encrypted.
- Public pensions outside the United States. Retirement planning now counts public pensions in 16 other countries, each by its own claiming ages, alongside U.S. Social Security and Railroad Retirement.
- A Security page, setting out how your account and data are protected and how to report a security problem — and this page.
- The Terms of Use now promise at least 90 days' notice before the application shuts down, so there is time to download your data.
Improved
- The checkup reports now say what their figures leave out: which cash the emergency cushion doesn't count, the date of each snapshot figure on a trend card, and the spending target behind retirement readiness.
- Repeated wrong sign-ins to an address with no account are now locked out the same way as a real account, so guessing can't reveal who is registered.
Fixed
- When viewing a shared household, some reports could mix your own figures into the owner's.
- A paycheck deposited on the day could show on the Cash Flow Planner as both still to come and already in the account.
- The look-ahead for twice-a-month pay could fall short when the second pay date ran behind the first.
September 2026
New
- The spending log. Note what you spend against each spending budget and see how much is left until payday.
- Skip a bill once. Skip the next occurrence of a bill without changing the plan, and undo it if you change your mind.
- A forecast for each account. The cash-flow calendar now projects each spending account separately.
- Every 4 weeks and every 2 months are now available as schedules for income and bills.
- Deposit accounts for income. An income can name the account it is paid into, and is credited there on payday.
- Budgeting. Spending budgets by category, each with the account it is paid from, set aside day by day in the Cash Flow Planner. Available at Medium and High.
- Download all your data at any time, as a spreadsheet and as a machine-readable file.
- Passkeys. Sign in with your device's fingerprint, face or PIN instead of a password.
- Import from a spreadsheet. Fill in the Excel template, or edit an export, and upload it.
- Custom complexity. The last stop on the complexity slider lets you pick exactly which features to show.
- Plain-language explanations on every page and section, written for the complexity level you choose.
- Retirement contributions and employer match can be recorded on an income, and the checkups take them into account.
- New calculators for mortgage affordability and the debt snowball, each with its own address.
- The iPhone app is on the App Store, and its calculators work without an account.
- An About page saying who runs the application, where its figures come from and what its projections assume.
Improved
- Calculators start from your own figures when you are signed in or using demo mode, show which inputs still match, and can save a changed value back to your profile.
- Ages in the retirement tools and Social Security estimates are now counted in years and months, not whole years.
- Your profile now records your country and region, the public pensions that apply to you, and a time zone you choose.
- The Budget Planner is now the Cash Flow Planner, its calendar has a chart, and Financial Accounts is now Money Details.
- Passwords now need at least 12 characters, with no rules about character types, and one found in a known data breach is refused.
- Password-reset links now expire after two hours.
- When a session ends, one banner asks you to sign in again, instead of an error on every part of the page.
- If someone else changes a record while you have it open, saving says so instead of overwriting their change.
- Updates no longer take the application offline while they are installed.
- Screen readers now name each row of the Cash Flow Planner and each button in it, and more of the forms.
- Charts follow the light or dark theme throughout.
August 2026
New
- Weekly digest and bill alert emails, each of which you can switch off from Preferences or from the email itself.
- Hide incomes and expenses that have ended, with one setting that covers both lists.
- Financial literacy resources on the Literacy page.
- Register with a Microsoft account.
Improved
- Two-factor sign-in is now asked for on every way of signing in, including Microsoft sign-in.
