These terms govern your use of Manage Your Means, a personal-finance planning tool operated by Manage Your Means LLC. By using the site you agree to them. If you do not agree, please do not use the site.

Not financial advice

This is the most important term here. Manage Your Means is an educational and planning tool. It is not a financial advisor, and using it does not create an advisor-client relationship. Its calculators, budgets, projections, and reports are arithmetic performed on the figures you enter, using simplifying assumptions. They are not a recommendation to take, or refrain from taking, any financial action.

Decisions about investing, borrowing, retirement, and tax are consequential and depend on circumstances this site knows nothing about. Consult a qualified professional before acting. You are solely responsible for your own financial choices. See the full Disclaimer.

Your account

• You are responsible for keeping your password secure and for activity under your account.
• Provide accurate registration details, and keep your email address current.
• One person per account. Do not share credentials.
• Tell the operator promptly if you believe your account has been compromised.

Accuracy of results

The output of this site is only as good as the data you put into it. Projections rest on assumptions — constant rates, regular contributions, simplified tax treatment — that will not hold exactly in reality. Figures are estimates and illustrations, not guarantees or predictions. Verify anything that matters against your actual statements and accounts.

Acceptable use

You agree not to:

• Attempt to access another user's account or data.
• Probe, scan, or attempt to breach the site's security or authentication.
• Disrupt or overload the service, or interfere with others' use of it.
• Scrape, resell, or redistribute the service or its content.
• Use the site for anything unlawful.

Demo mode

Demo mode uses fictional sample personas for illustration. The figures in it are invented and describe no real person. Data you edit in demo mode lives only in your browser and may be cleared at any time, including by signing in or by your browser reclaiming storage. Do not rely on it to persist, and do not enter real financial information into it expecting it to be saved.

Availability

The site is provided on a best-effort basis by a single developer. It may be unavailable, may change, and may have features added or removed without notice. There is no uptime guarantee. Keep your own records; do not treat Manage Your Means as the sole system of record for anything important.

Warranties and liability

The service is provided "as is" and "as available", without warranties of any kind, whether express or implied, including any implied warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, or accuracy.

To the fullest extent permitted by law, the operator is not liable for any indirect, incidental, consequential, or punitive damages, nor for any financial loss, lost profits, or lost data arising from your use of, or reliance on, this site — including any decision you make on the basis of a calculation, projection, or report it produces.

Nothing in these terms excludes or limits liability where the law does not permit it to be excluded or limited.

Termination

You may stop using the site and request deletion of your account at any time (see the Privacy Policy). Accounts that breach these terms — particularly the acceptable-use section — may be suspended or removed.

Changes to these terms

These terms may be revised; the date above will be updated when they are. Continuing to use the site after a change means you accept the revised terms.
