Delete Your Account
Last updated: 5 September 2026
You can delete your Manage Your Means LLC account yourself, at any time, and it takes effect immediately. You do not need to contact anyone, and there is no waiting period, retention offer or confirmation call.
On the website
Sign in, then go to Preferences → Security settings → Delete account. You will be asked to confirm, and the deletion happens straight away.
In the mobile app
Sign in, then go to Settings → Delete account. It runs exactly the same deletion as the website — the app has no separate copy of your data.
If you cannot sign in
Email support@manageyourmeans.com from the address your account is registered under, and ask for the account to be deleted. Using the registered address is what lets us confirm the request is yours; a request from any other address cannot be actioned, because honouring it would let anyone delete anyone else's account.
What is erased
Deleting your account permanently removes your entire financial model: income, expenses, debts, investments, liquid assets, savings goals, Social Security entries, payment history, spending decisions and quarterly snapshots. It also removes any household sharing you had set up, in both directions, and the sign-in itself.
This is a real deletion, not a hidden flag. Individual records you delete inside the app are hidden immediately and removed from the database 30 days later, so an accidental deletion can still be recovered on request — closing your account does not use that window. It erases the data at once, and there is no backup copy to restore from. If you want to keep anything, export it first.
What is kept, and why
Two things deliberately survive, and neither contains your financial data:
- Server logs hold record identifiers and the routes that were called. They never contain amounts, names or descriptions. Where household sharing was involved, one side of that record belongs to the other person, which is the reason it is not yours alone to erase.
- Feedback submitted anonymously or from a different email address. The feedback form works without signing in, so nothing ties those messages to an account. Feedback you sent from your registered address is erased with the account; all feedback is deleted after 12 months regardless.
The full picture of what is stored and why is in the Privacy Policy.
Deleting the app is not deleting your account
Uninstalling the mobile app removes it and the sign-in token held on that device. Your account and your data stay on the server until you delete the account itself, using one of the routes above.
